LASG warns applicants against fraudulent jobs

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board has warned residents of the state against job vacancies being advertised in the name of the board, saying they are dubious.

The Chairman of SUBEB, Dr Oluremi Sopeyin, gave the warning following the spread of information on the social media that the agency had started recruiting.

Sopeyin, in a statement on Tuesday, said the state government was devising means of bringing those behind the misinformation to book.

According to the statement, the initiators of the message requested that holders of NCE and degrees in Education should come to the SUBEB headquarters on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, to fill forms for vacant positions.

“Sopeyin disclosed that the government had not started recruitment of teachers, adding that the agency would follow due process in announcing its vacancies, especially through the state government’s official website, social media platforms and other credible sources.

“He, therefore, advised job seekers to be more vigilant in order not to fall prey to persons with ulterior intentions who use job vacancies to swindle unsuspecting members of the public of their hard-earned money,” the statement added.
