I’ll attract amenities to Anambra South, says Chris Uba

The Peoples Democratic Party’s senatorial candidate for Anambra South, Chief Chris Uba, on Tuesday said he would not be a senator that would only be representing his people on the television.

He said he would work closely with the Federal Government to attract amenities to his constituency.

Uba spoke at a  town hall meeting with the people of Orumba North and Orumba South local government areas of the state.

He said, “ I am not going to Abuja to feature on television news. No, you won’t see me on the television. That’s not my style; that’s not why I’m going there.

“I’m going to Abuja to attract amenities, development and jobs for this district. Our senatorial district is the worst in the state in terms of development. We’re backward. So, I’m on a rescue mission.”

He asked the people of the area to guard their voter cards jealously, alleging that some contestants in the February 16 election were banking on vote buying to win.

He added, “Stop selling your votes and conscience. The time to rescue our people in Anambra South senatorial zone is now because you were the people that asked me to come out. It’s a contract.

“Fear not, I have the resources for this election; I have the brain. I have the connection and I have the capacity to prosecute this fight.

“This is not yet my campaign. I will come back to you during my rally which will be a hurricane.

“I have told my brother, Andy Uba, who is the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress to withdraw from the race because it won’t be an easy task.”
