Nigerian Breweries subdue competition…..now has 24products after Consolidated Breweries merger

It is no longer news that the nation’s leading brewer, Nigerian Breweries Plc former known as Nigerian Breweries has merged with consolidated Breweries, but it may interest you to know that the merger has skyrocketed Nigerian Breweries Plc products.

BRAND INFO gathered that with the merger of the two companies, Nigerian Breweries Plc which has 11 products before can now boast of 24 top of the mind products.

Also, all the executive board members and properties of Consolidated Breweries now belong to Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Speaking recently about the merger, the chairman of the Board of Directors, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Chief Kolawole Jamodu, said that the merger of Nigerian Breweries and Consolidated Breweries is a boost to the equities market, as former shareholders of Consolidated Breweries Plc., which was not listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange [NSE], now have the opportunity to trade their shares on the floor of NSE.

Speaking further, he said that, other major benefits accruable from the merger also include cost saving from the consolidation of supply and distribution networks of both companies as a result of improved operational efficiencies arising from integrated operations. The products of both companies will be manufactured more efficiently through their combined operational capacities.

 Jamodu explained that significant cost saving is targeted by distributing products and selling the enlarged product portfolio of the new company across the entire combined sales and distribution network of the enlarged company. The enlarged company is expected to extend market leadership, accelerate revenue growth and expand profit capacity.

Formerly Nigerian Breweries Plc has 11 products which are Star, Gulder, Legend, Heineken, Maltina, Amstel Malta and Fayrouz. Others are Climax Energy drink, More and Life, Goldberg and Malta Gold. With the merger, all the 14 Consolidated Breweries product which are ‘33’ Export, The Stouts- Legend Extra stout, Turbo King and Williams Dark Ale, Hi Malt, Maltex, Breezers, Ace Passion among others are now with Nigerian Breweries Plc.
