Prima Garnet Africa Marks 23 Years in Nigerian Ad Space

Lolu Akinwunmi

As part plans to celebrate its 23 years of doing business in sub-Saharan Africa, one of the flagship advertising agencies in the Nigerian marketing communication orbit, Prima Garnet Africa, has expressed gratitude to its loyal clients and partners.

In over two decades of its existence, Prima Garnet Africa has built a robust clientele base which include Coca-Cola, First Bank, CBN, Nestle, Motorola, GSK, Unilever, Airtel, Multi Choice, Oando to mention but a few.

Shedding more light on the milestones of the company, the CEO of Prima Garnet Africa and immediate past Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Mr. Lolu Akinwumi stated that “as we mark the 23rd anniversary of our flagship model and parent company Prima Garnet Africa, we profusely thank God for the opportunity and the grace to forge ahead, and trust Him for the great years ahead. It has not always been easy. We have experienced ups and downs, good and bad times.”

However, Akinwunmi also expressed mix reactions that as much as the firm has been blessed with incredibly talented and loyal staff, it also had to experience the duplicity and treachery of a few. Along the line, Prima Garnet got affiliated to Ogilvy worldwide. It also racked up three other international affiliations and a number of companies like 141 Worldwide, Mediashare, Cutler Comms PR, Lampost and others.

He also added that the agency’s modest group has produced two AAAN (Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria) Presidents, the pioneer Secretary and pioneer CEO of the Federal Government rebranding project, the current APCON chairmanship, and a delegate to the last National Conference.

He equally pointed out that the agency became the first agency to be invited to join the very prestigious Convention for Business Integrity which became a part of the global agency family which was then restructured with its own vision to spread into Africa as a truly pan African player and taking on a new brand name of Prima Garnet Africa in line with its fierce regional vision.

Akinwunmi acknowledged the support the company has received from clients and shareholders saying the company couldn’t be where it is now without “very loyal friends, shareholders and clients.”
