Juventus’ Chiesa undergoes successful knee surgery

 





Juventus and Italy’s forward Federico Chiesa, on Sunday, underwent a successful surgery on the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.



Juventus made the announcement on their social media accounts on Sunday, minutes before their clash with AC Milan.



“This afternoon, Federico Chiesa underwent surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” the club statement read.



“The operation, performed at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck by Professor Christian Fink and in the presence of Juventus’ Dr. Stefanini, proved to be a perfect success.”




According to the club statement, the 24-year-old is expected to recover from the surgery in “approximately seven months.”



Chiesa had gotten injured two weeks ago at the Stadio Olimpico, when Juve made a 4-3 comeback against Roma.



Chiesa’s surgery was initially scheduled to for earlier in the week, but was postponed due to illness. (Punch)
