Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola

The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing plans make staff priority welfare to motivate workers to give their best to the service of the nation.

A statement on the website of the ministry quoted the Permanent Secretary, Babangida Hussaini, as saying this during the handing over of newly acquired four 36-seater Toyota Coaster buses to the staff of the ministry through their union, the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees.

Hussaine lauded the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, for granting an approval for the procurement of the buses.

He promised that more staff buses would be procured while the old ones would be refurbished as soon as proposals from reputable motor mechanics were considered for approval.

The Director, Human Resources, Ministry of Works and Housing, Umar Utono, was quoted as lauding the initiative.

The Chairman of the ministry’s branch of AUPCTRE, Sunday Sanusi, was quoted to have said, “When I heard that these vehicles have been purchased, it was like a dream to me. I am using this opportunity to say thank you to the Permanent Secretary and the management for making it a reality.” (Punch)
