Fire kills 14, injures 15 at Borno IDP camp


A mystery fire on Thursday killed about 14 people at an Internally Displaced Persons’ camp in Ngala town, Borno State.



According to an official of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, 15 persons were injured in the incident.



According to the SEMA official, the fire broke out on Thursday afternoon, adding that it gutted parts of the camp, leading to the death of 14 persons, while 15 others were injured, including seven elderly persons and eight minors.



But the Chairperson of SEMA, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo, in a text message, said, “Yet to receive comprehensive reports; so far it is reported that 11 persons died.”
