Heavy traffic as Adeboye preaches in Ibadan

Heavy  traffic was  witnessed  in many  parts of Ibadan  on Monday as the Redeemed Christian Church of God held its 2019  Let’s Go-A-Fishing 2019 Crusade at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria,  Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ring Road, Challenge-Molete Road and NTC Road were  mostly affected.

Some of the worshippers, who came from different parts of the city and other parts of Oyo State, trekked to the venue  for  the programme as a result of the gridlock.

The stadium was filled to capacity with worshippers  flocking to see  the General Overseer of the church  Pastor Enoch Adeboye who  preached during the crusade.

Adeboye  called  on all Christians to use the opportunity of Christmas to surrender totally to Jesus Christ.

The cleric said,  “It doesn’t matter how long you have been sick but all sicknesses and diseases that look impossible can be taken care of by Jesus only if you believe and surrender.

“With Jesus, the one who used to be poor can become rich, the one called barren can become mother of twins and the one who used to be single, can marry.”

Adeboye said he would  visit no fewer than 20 places across the country as part of the programme.

He prayed  for the sick before mounting the podium.

He also prayed for Governor Seyi Makinde, the   state and the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

On the Olubadan, Adeboye  said, “I pray that his last days shall be greater than the former days.”

Describing Ibadan as a special province strategic to  the church,  Adeboye said, “The last time I was in this stadium was almost 20 years ago. Ibadan is always the first to be in touch after the Holy Ghost Congress when the anointing is still fresh. Ibadan always comes first with a programme.”

Hundreds of people gave their lives to Christ at the event.

Rashidat, wife of the Olubadan of Ibadan; and the state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel Akanmu, were present on the occasion.
