CHAN 2020 qualifier: Dosseh confident of knocking out Nigeria

Togo coach Abalo Dosseh says his side’s win over Nigeria in the first leg qualifying match of the 2020 African Nations Championship could give his team the edge in reverse fixture in a fortnight, Sports Extra reports.

The Hawks take a 4-1 lead into the second leg.

“We feel very good about the win and we have another half to finish in Nigeria, “Dosseh told togofoot.info.

“It’s obviously not the result which ends the tie, but the most important thing is the result and we are ahead.”

Dosseh also conceded that the second leg could likely turn out a feisty affair.

“To win against a very good team in Nigeria is not easy because it takes a lot of hard work. We had the worst start in the game but reacted well. “The job will be completed next week.”

A brace from Nane Richard and strikes from TchakeiMarouf and Agoro Ashraf canceled out Ibrahim Sunusi’s eight-minute opener at Stade de Kegue, Lome.

The reverse fixture will hold October 19 at a yet to be named venue.
