Be fair to all ethnic groups, Igbo body asks Sanwo-Olu

The Igbo Movement has asked the Lagos State governor-elect, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to be fair to all ethnic groups in the state during his administration.

The group admonished the governor-elect to run an all-inclusive government, promising to support him to ensure his tenure’s success.

According to a statement, the leader of the Igbo Movement, Mr Chris Onyekachi, said this at an interactive session with journalists at the weekend.

“I appeal to him (Sanwo-Olu) to see that everybody is carried along. As for us Igbo, we are business people; he should make our environment conducive as we pay our taxes.

“We will cooperate with his administration; we need a sense of belonging. During the last election, we went out and voted for him. God has made him our governor because it is God who crowns all,” he said.

Onyekachi said the Igbo were sure of the governor-elect’s pedigree, which was why they campaigned and voted for him during the 2019 governorship election.

He added that the Igbo were law-abiding and that if there was any issue, the incoming government should approach the Igbo leaders to pass the information across.

Onyekachi urged the governor-elect to complete the ongoing road construction at the Ladipo Market and other projects left behind by the outgoing governor before initiating new ones.
