The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress has summoned members of its National Caucus to what it described as a crucial meeting in Abuja today (Monday).
Members of the caucus are the party’s national officers, President Muhammadu Buhari and the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; all the governors who are members of the party, some senators and a few members of the House of Representatives.
A former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is also a member of the caucus.
The meeting, which will hold at the party’s national secretariat, is expected to be presided over by the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole.
A notice of the meeting, which was shown to our correspondent by one of those that would attend the meeting, read, “A meeting of the APC National Caucus will hold on Monday (18/2/19) at the Party’s National Secretariat. Time: 11am.”
The National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, confirmed to one of our correspondents that the meeting was called because of the postponement of Saturday election.
“We are going to discuss the postponement as it relates to our party; there is nothing secret about it,” he said.
