Underdispensing: DPR seals two filling stations

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sealed two filling stations; A.Y.T Nigeria Limited, A.M.M.T Nigeria Limited and a pump at the NNPC mega station in Adamawa State for under dispensing and not keep sales records.

Controller Operations of DPR Adamawa/Taraba, Mohammed Alaku said A.Y.T Nigeria Limited which is located at Yola-Town was sealed due to lack of having a sales book adding that the manager “must account for the volume he has diverted”.

A.M.M.T was sealed after colouration was found in its product and will remain sealed until DPR determines the extent of contamination. Alaku said that the effort they are making is to ensure that people are selling at the government approved price of N145 per liter.

Underdispensing comes with a N100,000 fine. At least 40 trucks have delivered petrol to both states, keeping 13 stations operating and reducing the impact of the scarcity.

A motorist, Muhammad Bukar said there have been improvements in the scarcity of petroleum products compared to last year and called on the government to appreciate the effort DPR are doing.

Muhammed Alaku called on the general public to be patient and to notify him if a station is selling above the fuel price or facing any issues of diversions.
