After the intervention of Lagos state government to the
closing of the school gate due to the ongoing strike, Lagos State Polytechnic
Management has reopened the school gate.
Our correspondent who was at the school this morning
confirmed that the gate has been reopened.
In a release signed by LASPOTECH Students Union Government (LASPOSUG),
the special adviser to the Governor of Lagos state Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on
education assured the students union government representatives at Alausa
yesterday 2nd of May 2017 that the school gate which was closed would be
reopened today Wednesday.
The school management earlier yesterday gave the directive
that the school gate should be closed for a week, but with the recent
development all activities would continue today.
According to LASPOSUG, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP),
LASPOTECH chapter insists they would have to hold their Congress before any decision
can be taken about the strike.
LASPOSUG advised students to keep calm and carry out other
assignments they may have till the issue is resolved.
