Lucky Fibdes Plc, the manufacturers of Nobel Carpets &
Rugs, has demonstrated his commitment to the growth and development of
sports in Nigeria by sponsoring the just concluded Ikoyi Club Tennis
Tournament.
The tournament which took place at the tennis section of the Ikoyi
Club consisted of 8 teams, each having 7 members. Teams were named
after Nobel’s High Traffic brand names: namely – Armanda, Long Life,
Signature, Aafreen, Modulys and Impressions. Participants and
spectators of the tournament were introduced to Nobel’s Contract
division and were able to enjoy the exhibited high traffic carpets &
rugs.
Nobel’s Contract division offers it clients’ carpets & rugs that
are manufactured for high traffic areas (Churches, Mosques, Offices,
Hotels, etc). It is the only manufacturer in West and Central Africa
that produces high traffic carpets with leading technology and best in
class raw materials. These carpets are made keeping in mind a lot of
people will be stepping on them. As the carpets & rugs are made in
Nigeria, corporate clients have the privilege to visit the factory in
Ikorodu, Lagos while their orders are being manufactured.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the week-long competition,
Contracts Head for the Company, Mr. Vikas Mehra, said that Lucky Fibres
was delighted to be the sponsor of a tournament that promotes healthy
competition and human development through sports.
“Lucky Fibres Plc believes in engaging in Corporate Social
initiatives that can promote the growth and development in the country
as a way of giving back to the society, and engaging in activities such
as this tournament is one of such ways”.
Mehra, further stressed that the raffle draw which was held on each
day of the contest was highly rewarding as 10 lucky people emerged as
winners daily, producing a total of 70 winners at the end of the
week-long tournament. These spectators and participants won “Premium
Centre Rugs – Aafreen” centre rugs.
While presenting an award to the company in appreciation of their
sponsorship, Chairman of the Tennis Section of Ikoyi Club, Mr. Ede
Osewengie commended Lucky Fibres for its presence and support of the
tournament.
The tournament however came to an end with Team Long Life emerging as
the winner and each member of the team winning gift vouchers worth N
60,000. Team Feathers came second with each member going home with gift
vouchers worth N 25,000 each.
