Digitalization: ADVAN partners WAWOOTV to hold two days conference

In order to educate the Nigerian advertisers on the scope, effect, challenges and opportunity inherent in the planned mandatory migration of the broadcast industry from analogue to digital spectrum, Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) in partnership with ACC Broadcast Multimedia, the operator of WAWOOTV has concluded plans to hold a two day high profile conference on the business of broadcasting in post-digital migration era in Nigeria.

The conference will hold on 22nd and 23rd of January, 2015 at the prestigious planet one Hotel, Maryland Ikeja.

Speaking at a media parley held recently at White House Hotel Ikeja, the Chief Executive Officer of ACC Broadcast Multimedia limited Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki said the conference which will assemble major key players in the digital migration process is in collaboration with the National Broadcast Commission (NBC) and will provide a comprehensive learning on the migration process.

He disclosed that the event provides an ample opportunity for all involved in the broadcast value-chain to have direct interface with the major purchase-decision makers who make up ADVAN’s membership, and who singly and collectively contributed more than 95% (averaging N103 billion) of total advertising spend in Nigeria in 2013.

“Ever since the commencement of Radio Broadcasting Service in 1932 in Nigeria and the establishment of Western Nigeria Television (WNTV), the 2015 digital migration of electronic broadcasting will arguably be the singular most radical and drastic overhaul of broadcasting in Nigeria. It will affect the entire value chain, from broadcast origination, programming, advertising and home viewership dynamics,” Obaseki said.
