LASG commends returnee pilgrims’ good conduct

The Lagos State Government has commended Jerusalem pilgrims who participated in the December pilgrimage to Israel, saying their conduct was exemplary throughout the excercise.

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, who addressed the participants of the 2018 pilgrimage on Monday at a thanksgiving service at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, urged them to spread the good news of the first-class treatment and welfare packages they enjoyed from the state government during their journey.

He described the thanksgiving service as a necessary one considering the fact that the pilgrims successfully completed the several days’ spiritual exercise without any hitch and also for journey mercies, to and from the land of Israel.

The HoS said, “The state government appreciates the patronage of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board by you, as well as the way and manner that you conducted yourself on the foreign land.

“It is to the glory of God and Jesus Christ that you went and came back whole.”

Muri-Okunola also prayed that the pilgrims would receive answers to their supplications and expectation from the journey.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs Toyin Awoseyi, encouraged the returnees to be the testimonials of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, adding that the 2019 pilgrimage would surpass that of 2018.
