Kogi ADC candidate petitions UN over alleged attacked

The senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress for Kogi East, Dr. Victor Adoji, has petitioned the United Nations over alleged violent attacks on him by suspected government agents.

Adoji mentioned Governor Yahaya Bello and the state All Progressives Congress in the petition.

He also called on international protocols on civil and political rights, and other relevant bodies to address what he described as the overbearing attitudes of the state government towards opposition parties in the state.

Adoji read the petition, addressed to the UN’s Petition and Inquiry Section of the Office of the High Commissioner for Civil and Political Rights,  at a press conference at the national secretariat of ADC, Abuja on Saturday.

Speaking on the issue, Kingsley Fanwo, Director-General (Media and Strategy) to Bello, described the allegations as “cooked and unintelligent propaganda.’’

He said, “They should tell us the names of the ADC Exco members in Kogi State. They were all contract from other smaller parties. They are already aware that they are going to lose the election. That is why they are now crying wolf so that when they lose, they will now have someone to pin their loss on.’’
