Senator counters Osinbajo, says Buhari’ll hand over to South-East in 2023

The lawmaker representing Imo North at the Senate, Benjamin Uwajumogu, has countered the claim by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that President Muhammadu Buhari would hand over power to the South West in 2023.

Uwajumogu spoke on Thursday at Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State during the inauguration of the road project he attracted to his constituents.

He said Buhari was committed to handing over power to the Igbo upon completion of his second term in office, urging the people of the zone to massively support the president’s reelection bid.

Describing Buhari’s reelection bid as the Igbo’s shortcut to presidency, Uwajumogu said it would take the Igbo at least eight years to think of producing the country’s number one person should former vice president, Atiku Abubakar win.

He said “President Muhammadu Buhari will hand over power to Ndigbo in 2023. I am sure of that. The president is honest and he is committed to it.”

He said he had attracted more than five road projects in the zone, adding that his two and a half years in the senate had witnessed allocation of dividends of democracy to the people of the Senatorial district.
