In
recognition of its strict adherence to global best food safety practices, Dufil Prima Foods Plc,
manufacturer of Nigeria’s leading instant noodles brand, Indomie Instant Noodles,
achieved another milestone recently when its plant secured an ISO 22000:2005 re-
certification certificate from the Standards Organizations of Nigeria.
The
re-certification comes after a successful audit carried out by SON to certify
the company’s conformity of the food management system.
Speaking
on the recertification by SON, Public Relations and Events Manager Dufil Prima
Foods, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, stated that the successful audit of the company’s
plant is an attestation of Dufil’s commitment to continually adhere to global
best practices and standards in all of its operations and processes.
He
said, “All Dufil Prima Foods Plc product realisation processes are planned to
meet customers’ needs and regulatory requirements in all aspects of safety,
quality and cost performance. Adequate resources including human and world
class infrastructure are provided, to support the production of our products in
order to ensure that regulatory and statutory requirements are met and even surpassed”
Ashiwaju
explained that the recertification was a giant stride
in Dufil’s pursuit of excellence in manufacturing geared towards providing not
only quality food to the teeming consumers but food that is equally absolutely safe
for consumption.
“For
us, this recertification would serve as a drive to steer the company towards
providing more quality products and services to our customers. In addition, we
always ensure that our company’s quality parameters for food safety management
system are of International standards. Our system was subjected to rigorous audits
by seasoned auditors from SON and at the end of the assessment, the system was
adjudged to have conformed to the requirements of the regulators,” Ashiwaju
added.
With the certificate of
conformity to the requirements of NIS ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System Standards in noodles manufacturing, Dufil
Prima Foods Plc has now joined the league of the Food Safety Management System
certified companies in Nigeria.
